I've never used any linux environment before.I'm installing Xubuntu 8.10 on a old machine with AMD 1Ghz CPU, 256MB ram, and 160Gbs HDDs.I'm wondering if you got the Error 18 fixed eventually? Was it caused by any BIOS version or BIOS setting?I appreciate if you can give some troubleshooting suggestion.

Hi, I googled this message regarding Gurb Error 18 on Xubuntu 8.10 after rebooting front a fresh installation.
